SEAMER Nigel Mupurura picked a fiver as Takashinga 1 beat Uprising by seven wickets in an HMCA Vigne Cup First League encounter played at Old Hararians Sports Club on Sunday.
Mupurura finished with five wickets for 31 runs in 7.5 overs after Takashinga won the toss and elected to bowl first.
He ripped through Uprising batting line up taking the first and last wicket among his scalps.
First, he clean bowled Ryan Kamwemba for 14 runs for his first wicket after 4.2 overs leaving Uprising on 33/1. He then closed his inventory in similar fashion bowling out Junaid Nyawasha for 10 runs as Uprising were dismissed for 118 runs in 28.5 overs.
Anesu Kamuriwo claimed three wickets while Michael Blignaut took two to peg Uprising back for a measly target.
Uprising opener Kumbirayi Phiri and Tinotenda Nzua scored 25 and 29 runs apiece.
With a relatively easy target to chase, Takashinga 1 reached 119/3 after 18.2 overs with Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Timycen Maruma unbeaten on 42 from 27 and 37 from 43 runs respectively.
