Takashinga Cricket Club is a cricket club that aims to promote and develop cricket in Zimbabwe, especially among the black community.
The club was founded in 1990 by two visionary cricket enthusiasts, Givemore Makoni and Stephen Mangongo, who wanted to provide opportunities and facilities for black cricketers to play the game at a high level. The club’s name means “we are brave and we will fight all the way” in Shona, the native language of Zimbabwe.
The club’s motto reflects the determination and courage of its members, who have overcome many challenges and obstacles to achieve their dreams.
