The visiting Uganda national team is the first occupant of the Takashinga HPC house. The sprawling accommodation facility is nestled just next to the Takashinga cricket ground offering a unique experience for cricketers of walking from the house straight into the cricket field.
Speaking to Takashinga Media the Takashinga cricket club chairman Mr Moses Chitare disclosed that they named the house Chirandu House after their longest-serving groundsman Moyo Chirandu who has served the club loyally for 25 years until today.

The Uganda national cricket team has been enjoying the hospitality and convenience of the Takashinga HPC house, a spacious and comfortable accommodation facility that is located right next to the Takashinga cricket ground. The Ugandan cricketers have been able to walk from their rooms to the field, where they have been playing a series of matches against the hosts as part of their preparation for the ICC World Cup qualifiers in Namibia.
The house has been named Chirandu House, after Moyo Chirandu, the longest-serving groundsman of the Takashinga cricket club. Chirandu, who has been working for the club for 25 years, is a loyal and dedicated employee who has been instrumental in maintaining the high standards of the Takashinga Cricket Ground, which is regarded as one of the best in Zimbabwe.
The Takashinga Cricket Club chairman, Moses Chitare, said that they decided to name the house after Chirandu as a way of honoring and appreciating his service and contribution to the club. βMoyo Chirandu is a legend of Takashinga. He has been with us since the beginning, and he has been working tirelessly to keep our ground in top condition. He is a humble and hardworking man, who loves cricket and Takashinga. We are proud to have him as part of our family, and we wanted to show him our gratitude and respect by naming the house after him.β Chitare said.
The Uganda cricket team, which arrived in Zimbabwe last week, has been the first occupant of the Chirandu House. The team has been impressed by the facility and the hospitality of the Takashinga club.
